Lanificio Bisentino is one of the most well-known and successful companies in the Prato textile district. Founded over 60 years ago, it continues to specialize in the production of textiles for clothes that make up a wide range of varying types of products.

Bisentino’s past is firmly rooted in the history of the textile industry in Prato. The business was founded in 1944, thanks to the inspiration and hard work of its founders - brothers Guglielmo and Mario Gramigni, and their brother-in-law Ruggero Nincheri.

Initially, the company’s activity was based on the production of wool fabrics and blankets that were sent all over the world. Even then they attentively followed foreign markets.

The factory, originally located in the northern part of the city near the historical center, was made up of various departments that produced quality textiles and blankets.

During the 60s and 70s the company grew significantly, increasing in size and production, which improved over time and quickly adapted to the changing marketplace.

Thanks to the arrival of the second generation of the Gramigni family - Paolo, Giampiero and Andrea - Bisentino continued to grow and take over more market space, thus creating the basis for today’s company.

At the end of the 80s, the company moved into its new and current location in the heart of the Macrolotto industrial area - the 12,000 sqm space includes the design offices, commercial and administrative offices and production departments.

The highly qualified expert personnel ensure a high level of style and quality in the production process.

Over the years, the third generation of the Gramigni family came into the business - Lorenzo and Giuditta have important managerial duties in addition to overseeing all marketing and commercial aspects of the company.
